Float, Move, and Relax – Fitness Designed for Every Stage of Pregnancy

Our Prenatal Float and Fitness classes at Easyswim Swim School are specifically designed for expectant mothers at any stage of pregnancy.

Each 30-minute session includes: 

  • 10 minutes of warm-up exercises 
  • 10 minutes of individual activities using pictorial activity cards with written instructions 
  • 10 minutes of a relaxing cool-down, focusing on gentle floating 

These activities have been carefully developed by a trained physiotherapist to provide a fun, functional way to maintain fitness throughout pregnancy.

RELAX WITH US

Our indoor pool is heated to a comfortable 32°C, 1 meter deep, and 14 meters long, providing a safe and relaxing environment.  During the class, you’ll be supported by an experienced Easyswim instructor to ensure your safety and comfort at all times. 


At Easyswim, we prioritise the health and wellbeing of expectant mothers and their babies.  As with any physical activity, we recommend consulting with your GP or midwife before starting the program, particularly if you have any medical concerns or conditions. 


Classes are available exclusively at Tawa School Pool, and you can join the program at any time

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How deep is the pool? Will I be able to touch the bottom? What is the tempreture?

    The pool is an indoor heated (32°C) pool with a depth of 1 meter, and the exercises are tailored to suit this. 

  • What is the maximum number of participants for each class?

    10 + the teacher 

  • How do I safely enter and exit the water?

    Safety is paramount!  Use steps with handrail. Teacher and or supervisor on hand to assist with this, particularly as required during latter stages of pregnancy. 

  • Will any level of fitness be catered for?

    Yes, the exercise circuit can be made to suit all levels of fitness and can adapt to class participants 

  • How many exercise cards will I follow during a session?

    Your teacher will create a personalised lesson plan to meet the needs of everyone in the class. You can expect about 3 warm-up activities, 7 exercise stations, and 3 cool-down activities, including stretches and breath control exercises, along with plenty of time to relax and float! 

  • What can I expect from an exercise station?

    You will receive a pictorial exercise card with written instructions, along with any necessary exercise equipment. Your teacher is trained to assist with any questions regarding the exercise cards and how to perform the exercises. 

  • I am not able to float, how can I participate in the float activities?

    We provide neck support cushions, noodles, and flutter/kick boards to help with flotation. Your session teacher will fully support you with these. 

  • I am not a good swimmer can I still join the session?

    Yes, we can tailor the session to any swimming ability.

  • Can I start/stop the program at any stage of my pregnancy?

    Yes, it is safe to participate in the program up until your due date. You can join the program at any point during the term. 

  • What do I need to bring?

    Togs & Towel
