Building Water Confidence Beyond the Pool

Every January, Easyswim proudly partners with the Titahi Bay Surf Life Saving Club to run a unique and engaging 3-day Beach Swim School designed to help kids develop real-world water safety skills.

This exciting short course allows children to take their swimming knowledge from the pool to the ocean. In a fully supervised and safe environment, each one-hour session introduces essential open water safety practices through fun, hands-on learning. Kids participate in Junior Lifesaver (Nipper) games, learn to spot and navigate rip currents, and practice swimming with and without life jackets.

On the final day, children complete a longer open water swim, helping them build confidence, resilience, and respect for the sea. The programme reinforces key safety messages taught during our regular lessons while giving tamariki a memorable beachside experience.

As an added bonus, if time allows, lifeguards from Titahi Bay may share elements of their Nippers surf programme, giving participants a taste of real surf lifesaving activities.
